ELSA workshop in London on the interactions of generative AI and the creative arts

Plamen Angelov and Mario Fritz at the Work Package 3 private meeting.

On March 18, 2024, researchers from ELSA - European Lighthouse on Secure and Safe AI met at the Alan Turing Institute in London to discuss their work on human oversight and control of artificial intelligence. The experts discussed the many technical, legal and ethical challenges that arise when implementing control mechanisms in AI systems, but above all presented new approaches that lead to safer and more trustworthy systems.

Following this, an additional public workshop was held on Generative AI and Creative Arts. Creators, legal scholars and scientists discussed the complex dynamics of generative artificial intelligence and copyright. The Alan Turing Institute, Lancaster University and the University of Birmingham organised this event.
